The IHV (Independent Hardware Vendors) partner program offers a network of partners that work closely with MontaVista to expand the support of MontaVista Linux across all leading embedded processors, platforms and peripherals. Since the company was founded in 1999, MontaVista has been collaborating with hardware partners to enable the latest processors and boards for embedded Linux developers.

MontaVista IHV partners include:

  • Integrated platform providers that offer complete runtime target environments built on MontaVista Linux targeted to specific hardware platforms
  • Semiconductor vendors, including microprocessor cores, integrated controllers, and SOC vendors
  • Boards and systems vendors that offer computer system and board level products


IHV partners integrate, optimize, and test patches for their specific hardware based on a MontaVista reference LSP or MSD and provide these patches to their customers.

Partnership features and benefits include:

  • Joint promotional activities and demand creation (tradeshows, press releases, customer success stories, webinars) for select opportunities
  • Engagement with MontaVista field sales team for select opportunities
